Blog #2: My hitting Journey

Today I’ll be talking about my hitting journey. When I would play with my friends in a circle, I could hit a bit. I wasn’t very good though. Whenever I played with my family or with friends with a net, my approach wasn’t good. I couldn’t jump, or hit. I only knew how to roll the ball over. I wanted to be better. Over the summer after Junior year, I went to volleyball camp with my Cousin. We learned how to approach, time, and hit. Whenever I tried, I still didn’t get any better. I kept hitting into the net and my timing was off.

When senior year started, there was a net that we got to play with outside. I still wasn’t very good at hitting. I had a friend who can set the ball. He would set for my friends and me. I still tried even if it wasn’t good. The more I tried, the more my Approach got better. I still wasn’t good at hitting. I kept going under the ball which made it go up instead of down. The more I played with my friends during lunch, the more I got better. Over time, I got better at Hitting and Timing.

There were a few times where my hitting wasn’t good, but that didn’t make me give up. I kept playing and playing and eventually got better. When I played in the small volleyball league over the summer, my hitting wasn’t as good. I kept trying and my ball still went over. The more I tried, my hitting got better again. I scored at least 4 points with me hitting. There were other times where I tried to hit but they weren’t as good, but I was still able to score points. My favorite point was when I hit outside and oppo. I’m glad that I improved.
